Novena to the Miraculous Infant of Prague

To be said in any necessity

P: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
R: Amen.

O Jesus, * whose love for us is infinite in depth and power * and whose greatest joy is to dwell amongst the children of men, * and to bestow thy blessing upon us! * Though we are not worthy that thou shouldst behold us with love, * we feel ourselves drawn unto thee, O dear Infant Jesus, * because thou dost gladly pardon us and exercise thine almighty power over us.

So many who have turned with confidence unto thee * have received graces and had their petitions granted. * Behold us as we kneel in spirit * before thy miraculous image on thine altar in Prague, * and as we lay open our hearts unto thee, * with their petitions, prayers and hopes, * especially the intentions which we now enclose in thy most loving Heart. [Pause in silence, or listen as the public petitions are read aloud]

Do thou govern us, and lead us according to thy holy will, * for we know that in thy Divine wisdom and love * thou dost ordain all things meet for our salvation. * Almighty and most gracious Infant Jesus, withdraw not thy hand from us, * but bless and protect us from this time forth for evermore.

We beseech thee, blessed Infant, * in the name of thy most blessed and glorious Mother Mary * who cared for thee so lovingly, * and by the great reverence with which St. Joseph did bear thee in his arms, * do thou comfort us and vouchsafe to us thy peace * that we may bless and thank thee forever * with all our heart and mind and soul.  Amen.

The Image of the Holy Infant is Incensed by the Priest

O Jesus, who hast said : Ask and ye shall receive, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you, through the intercession of Mary, thy most holy Mother, I knock, I seek, I ask that my prayers may be granted.

O Jesus, who hast said : All that ye ask of the Father in my Name he will grant unto you, through the intercession of Mary, thy most holy Mother, I humbly and urgently ask thy Father in thy name that my prayers may be granted.

O Jesus, who hast said : Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my word shall not pass away, through the intercession of Mary, thy most holy Mother, I feel confident that my prayers will be granted.

Let us pray:  O Miraculous Infant Jesus, prostrate before thy sacred image, we beseech thee to cast thy merciful eyes upon our troubled hearts. Let thy loving Heart, so inclined to pity, be softened at our prayers, and grant us that grace for which we ardently implore thee. Do thou take from us, if it be thy will, all affliction and despair, all trials and misfortunes with which we are so sorely laden. For the sake of thy most sacred Infancy, hear our prayers, we humbly beseech thee, and send us thy consolation and assistance, that we may praise thee, with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.
R:  Amen.

Prayer to be said by the Sick to the Miraculous Infant of Prague

This Prayer may be said as a Novena

O most merciful Infant Jesus! I know of thy miraculous deeds for the sick, how many diseases thou didst cure during thy blessed life on earth, and how many venerators of thy miraculous image ascribe to thee their recovery and deliverance from most painful and hopeless maladies. I know, indeed, that a sinner like me hath merited his sufferings and hath no right to ask for favours.

But in view of the innumerable graces and the miraculous cures granted even to the greatest sinners through the veneration of thy holy infancy, particularly in the miraculous statue of Prague and in the images thereof, I exclaim with the greatest assurance: O most loving Infant Jesus, full of pity, thou canst cure me if thou wilt!  Do not hesitate, O Heavenly Physician, if it be thy will that I recover from this present illness; extend thy most holy hands, and by thy power take away all pain and infirmity, so that my recovery may be due, not to natural remedies, but to thee alone.

If, however, in thine inscrutable wisdom thou hast determined otherwise, then at least restore my soul to perfect health, and fill me with heavenly consolation and blessing, that in my sufferings I may be like unto thee, O most loving Jesus, and may glorify thy divine providence until, at the death of my body, thou bestow upon me the life everlasting. Amen.
